Taiwan reef and red peacock

My female Taiwan reef and my male red peacock were breeding last night and I'm wondering if they will actually be geneticly compatible and can actually successful batch of fry.

My female Taiwan reef and my male red peacock were breeding last night and I'm wondering if they will actually be geneticly compatible and can actually successful batch of fry.

I don't believe they will be able to produce a viable spawn since they are of different genus.

Ok thank you. It would of been interesting to see them cross but I didn't think they would be compatible. Guess that don't stop then from trying lol

Most African cichlids will definitely try to breed with anything that looks remotely like them. "Peacock Cichlid" is just a blanket term and several genus fall under that category. They are not all simply different color variants of the same fish.
