Now that our new Tapatalk based App for Android has rolled out, it's time for a new tutorial. There are a lot of similarities, but definitely a lot of differences as well. I hope this guide will be helpful to users that are new to Tapatalk. If you have any additional questions, or if there is something I have left out, you are welcome to contact me via PM or post a thread in this forum.

If you are having problems with the app, please delete the app, reboot your device, then reinstall the app.

This is the first screen you will see when you open up the app. Click the 3 little lines at the top left corner of your screen to get started.

Tap "Join" to login.

Here I have gone to the Contests subforum and opened the SW photo of the month thread. The three dots in the upper right corner will bring up a list of options.

You can subscribe to a thread by tapping the star icon at the top of the screen, and you can search by tapping the magnifying glass next to the star.

There are two ways to add a reply to a thread. You can use the Quick Reply feature by tapping on Quick Reply, then using the arrow in the bottom right corner to submit. Or, you can tap the + sign at the bottom left corner to go to a reply screen (this is easier if you have a long post).

If you want to quote a post, tap the post to select it and then tap the quote bubble at the top right corner of the screen. The quote bubble will take you to a reply screen that includes the quoted post, and you can type your message. As you can see in the screenshot, you can select multiple posts at a time to quote ("multi-quote").

While you have a post selected, the dots at the upper right corner of the screen will open up a menu. To report a post you see that violates our community rules, is a duplicate post, etc. hit Report and you will be prompted to type in a reason for reporting the post.

When you are in the new thread screen, tap on Subject and Body to fill out those fields. The dots in the upper right corner will open a small menu that is pretty self explanatory. When you are finished with your post, the arrow just to the left of the dots will submit your thread.

Tap the arrows in the upper right corner to refresh your folder, and tap the pencil icon to compose a new message. You can reply to an existing message in your by opening it and either tapping the quote bubble or the dots in the upper right corner.

There are a couple of other ways to send a PM as well. You can navigate to the People screen from your main menu, and tap a user's name. Or, you can tap on a user's avatar from within a thread you're reading. Once you're on the person's profile screen, tap the envelope in the upper right corner to compose your message.
