Yeh got some coming Friday (25kg), what's the best starter fish? Oh just checked all the levels and there all spot on at the mo

tank looks nice, what size? Any more close up pics? I can't tell how far the rock if front the front panel. did you use the raw shrimp or pure ammonia for your ammonia source? I'm on the verge of getting a 125G, just need to find one at the right price!

it's a 65g, 47'' long, well I got the water from my LFS, they use RO/DI water and they add the salt for you, I tested it when I got home and it was spot on, it seems cheaper to do it that way as the tank cost £30 to fill up. I then used 2 additives stress coat and stress zyme,

I have 2 canister filters, one fx5 (filters up to 1500l) for the bio, and a 305 for the chemical, 300l uv skimmer, and a 300 protein skimmer, in the 305 I've got activated carbon, filter floss, and once live rock is in it will have de-nitrate and de phosphate, the fx5 has ehelm bio media that alone was £90 nearly fainted!! Then 25k of live rock set me back £250. Oh well it's all worth it, I'm not sure yet any suggestions on the first fish? Something hardy I think?

Looks great! Post pics of the liverock when it comes in :) What are you planning to do with this tank, this matters for what fish you get. Reef? agressive fish? Reef would probably need better lighting i think.

Thanks :) I'm really not sure yet, when I got the tank the guy threw in a aqua 1 lighting unit that houses 4 4ft t5's so I've got the choice, Im so hung up on what fish to get, wether just get something easy for the first time as this is my first marine tank, or go for more aggressive fish what do u think? The tank is 47'' long

I'd say something easy and peaceful.. the aggressive fish are nice but i hate when i add a fish only to watch it get beat up by another fish to the point that i either need to remove the fish or it will die.

I think something easy that is reef safe is your best bet...then later on down the road you have the option to switch it to reef without the hassle of catching the non-reef-safe fish.

live aquaria is a great place to research fish, it tells the minimum tank size, ease of care, aggression, and if they are reef safe or not.

yeah i agree id go with a couple of marroon gold bar clowns one of my favorites. always remember to put territorial into the bracket with aggressive and peaceful, because peace can become aggressive when terrotorial.

Ok thanks for the advice, I do want reef at some point but I wanna get the hang of keeping the fish first,

I made the mistake of getting aggressive fresh water fish and in the end I could only have that species

Maroon clown fish are beautiful, but have been known to be the most aggressive of the clown fish, and the largest. That being said I had mine (1.5in) in my 28 gallon nano and he was fine. The only thing he would attack was my hand when i got anywhere near his anemone...which was pretty easy to do in a nano. I'm sure he's a lot happier in our large tank (260 gal) now and still no serious aggression to other tank mates.

Wow 260g!!!! That's a monster, any photo's?? I want one that size one day, I was looking at getting chromies or dotty back, or even a butterflyfish but they arnt reef compatible

It actually recently got a leak and we took it apart/put it back together. Just finished getting it set up last night. Here is the link for that story haha http://www.aquariumadvice.com/forums/f11/260-gallon-leak-144654.html

Here's some pics of before we took it down though, it's a pretty new tank still.

Wow that's awsome, well done on a great set up!!! What corral is that in the 2nd to last photo??

Live rock tomorrow!!!!!!! This week seemed to go on forever. I'll post some pics tomorrow afternoon

Lobophyllia, it is a type of brain coral. It is open for feeding in the pic, it gets very excited whenever i put my arm in the tank actually haha.

Looking forward to your pics! I hope you get some nice pieces with not too many nasty hitchhikers haha.
