    Top Fin Algae Remover

I’ve mostly been using my siphon to get it out, as my tongs have not been as successful. I can try using a fork though, although the siphon has been working when it gets crazy. I’ve been keeping the lights off more the past few days and fortunately, that seems to be working. Thank you for the...

    Top Fin Algae Remover

Attached is a photo of the algae. I just did a 50% water change and removed the java as it seemed like it was melting and my desire to keep plants isn’t very high. The lighting on the tank is whatever came with the aqueon 29 gallon kit, and I leave it on about 7 ish hours a day. By reducing...

    29 Gallon Stocking Tips

Thank you for the insight! I’ve kept Cories many times and was looking to branch out, but I love how active cories are so I might just stick to them. About how many would you stock in a 29 gallon? As for the danios, how would you compare them to the activity levels of guppies or white cloud...

    29 Gallon Stocking Tips

Hi all, I recently came into custody of a 29 gallon tank. Currently have one beta fish in said tank, and I’m looking for stocking advice. I was considering celestial pearl danios and corydoras, but a friend brought up Kuhli loaches and now I’m conflicted. I am aware of the struggles of...

This thread was incredibly informative. To see various fish keeping experts shed light upon their experiences in both the hobby and their related careers, which in turn affects their methodology in husbandry is extremely educational. Not much else to add- just wanted to take a moment to...

Hello everyone! I’ve been keeping fish on and off for about ten years now, but I’ve got an itch to venture into planted tank territory. I’ve never attempted a planted tank, but I’m excited to start! I have two betta’s currently that are around 2. I don’t plan on starting the tank until they...

Need Advice For Female Betta Sorority Tank

Secondary question, would striped Kuhli loaches be suitable? If yes, could I do them as well as the corys?

Need Advice For Female Betta Sorority Tank

Hello All, It has been a while since I’ve posted here, but I need a little bit of advice. I am a senior in college (gearing up for veterinary school), and I was doing research with female betta fish this semester. I was told I either keep the fish, or they’ll get killed. Obviously, I opted to...

    Drawing my betta community tank!

Hey guys! It’s been awhile since I’ve kept fish, but I’ve recently gotten back into the hobby! I made a little white board sketch of my current betta community. Included are: 1 betta 5 green neon tetras 7 panda corys 1 nerite snail Here is the drawing, as well as a few pictures of the...

    Tank Upgrade Stocking Ideas

Corys don’t make a shoal between different species. I’d return four of the six, then up it to a total of 6 of the same species. They’ll be much happier and more social. They exhibit really cool behavior when you keep them in larger groups.
