Hi i currently have a fluval 105 running on my 4ft turtle and fish tank and have just bought a new fluval 206 to run along side it, i was just wondering if i could just add the filter with all the new media with still using the 105 or if i would need to put some old media out of the 105 in it...
My ph was down to 6 in my goldfish/koi tank and they where not happy at all and where flicking off the gravel or just siting on the bottom of the tank so i was advised to use it, thanks
Im looking at changing my fluval 105 to a 305 on my 4ft turtle/fish tank as i am up to around 20 fish in there now and the turtles make alot of waste as well, am i right in thinking that as long as i put as much of the old media in the new filter i will avoid any problems with cycles etc?
One of my goldfish has just died this fish had dropsy around a year ago and looked like a pine cone and we where very lucky that she survived that but i think from that she had a low immune system and this latest problem with the ph has seen her off, just going to have to keep doing these 50%...
Has anyone ever used bicarbonate soda to raise there ph and kh? If so how much per gallon should i be adding as i am reading so many different things online about how much should be used, thanks
