There are two ways I know of to keep a tank cool. One is leaving the cover off (unless you have jumpers of course), and letting a fan blow across the water's surface. Or you could try floating a bag of ice.

I don't know about fish eating catfood, but one of my cats likes to eat fish food! :lol: He waits 'til I am done feeding, then licks any flake crumbs off the table.

I'm not sure on this, but I would think any absorption would be minute.... is it necessary to medicate the whole tank? Or is it possible to temporarily remove the driftwood while you're medicating? Just thought I'd throw some ideas out there. :)
