Hey everyone thankyou for all the feedback, I've had a look at the picture (by phone) and I'm not sure the picture is brilliant the gravel is slightly smaller than pea sized and more flakes than rounded, I can comfortabley run my fingers through it without feeling any sharp points however it is...
Hi everyone I've recently bought 6 Cory cats to go in my rainbow tank I've read a lot about small smooth gravel being okay for them? I think that's what my gravel is and they seem to love sifting through and haven't seen any problems as of yet, there is also a lol of plants driftwood etc for...
Females tend to have pinker bellies than the males and males tend to have more of a yellow belly (excuse the pun) also appear a lot more colourful once matured and settled in! Always struggled keeping these fish as they are extremely sensitive to change best of
Luck brother
Erm I'd say around three weeks now maybe more, I've put used filter sponges Inside the internal filter from another cycled tank to hopefully speed up the process! Yeah they are extremely active would the get along with Cory catfish?
Hey brookster how are you, yeah they look magnificent first thing on a morning and around dusk on a night, howcome only briefly did you have any problems with keeping them?
Will also add that this is a newly set up tank that is the processes of cycling all parameters are zero with nitrites showing 0.2 also the pictures do not give the fishs colour justice in these photos but show him when he is in colour
Have an all rainbow species tank however a couple of the rainbows only sometimes have colour, they're not dull but appear almost silvery then when coloured up are a brilliant dark orange and black colour, I am not aware of the type of rainbow this particular fish is and I believe it to be some...
It depends how many fish your wanting to add having a higher level will allow you to add more
Fish once the cycle is complete however letting it
Go to high will crash the cycle, I recommend keeping it between 2ppm and 4ppm keeping to the lower Side of that
What are your readings? With a fish less cycle it's not as important to do water changes because there's no chance of killing fish however you don't want to let your ammonia etc get to high as it will kill your beneficial bacteria
Dependant on your water parameters wether it's fish less or fish in etc, buy yourself a test kit then you can change your water according to that lots of ammonia present = bigger water change
Thanks guys, does anyone have a clue of the breed of the first two pictures ive put up? im thinking of eventually adding some female Boesmanis, but i will rearrange everything as advised. Will some Cory cats do ok in this set up as a clean up crew?
I've had this problem so many times with rams, they get rapid gill movement, stop eating, all there colours become really defined then they swell up like a balloon and die, I wish you the best of luck my friend this is the reason I stopped keeping these beautiful fish.
Hey everyone I have recently set up a dirted planted tank with all rainbow species all of which I believe to be male, they all seem to get on fine with the only occasional bickering coming from the two largest rainbows who I'm guessing are fighting for domenancy, will I come across any problems...
