Thanks guys :) I too have gravel right now (black) and I've always wanted sand, but people said it was bad for the plants. I think that only applies to root plants (the ones who depend on their roots). So thank you. Maybe I'll snap a pic later....maybe

This thread is about sand/gravel. I have a 3.5 gallon fish tank planning on have some RCS and some plants (Marimo moss ball, anibias nana, and perhaps some dwarf val). I was wondering what kind of substrate I should use. Please don't give me dirt or Eco-complete stuff. I need something simple...

I know slow doesn't technically mean non-aggressive, its just that if I do get a betta with shrimp and he sees the shrimp I don't want him to be faster than the shrimp...

Im having a inner fight if I want to have a betta or some shrimp. I've want to try out shrimp, but I've been a betta girl since the beginning 0-o One day I'm going to get a 10-20 gallon and have a community tank or betta soroity tank XD

I'm not a pro with guppies so someone please correct me. The gravid spot is darker than ushal (gravid spot Is that black dot in back) so that's a hint that she's preggers (the farther she's pregnant the lighter the gravid spot will be due to stretched skin) and depends how longs she's pregnant...

What is the slower betta breeds? If I mix shrimp and betta fish, I at least want my shrimp to feel at ease...

But can't a male betta just torture the poor thing and kill it? I'll just try to get the calmest betta I find.

If I do start a shrimp tank at one point of time I would want a CRS, I'll probably get one or two once I'm used to shrimp (I had a ghost shrimp once). Does the same rules apply to them as RCS and the Amanos? Or do you think I shouldn't get any at all?
