ok that's great, i'll definitely look into a RO/DI unit then.
here's a question - will i be ok w/o a filter? as i read through various guides, everyone has a different opinion (and some are unclear). plus i still don't understand some of the terms and acronyms used everywhere.
it seems like...
hi guys, i'm happy to report that we've taken some of the advice here and stopped the addition of new fish and put 1 person solely in charge of the thing. they've cleaned the tank and it's doing better but the puffer & trigger look like they have ich and algae is still growing fast. we're...
Hi,
I'm researching a FOWLR that I'd like to evolve into a reef tank someday.
I'm entirely new to "the hobby(TM)" and have been researching for the past 2 months.
What kicked off the research was the introduction of a fowlr tank to the office. Someone donated it and it has been in the...
thanks. huma i'm reading through the threads in your sig.
as far as triggers and tangs go, wouldn't those be a little risky toward corals and inverts? since i'm new i think a healthy stock of inverts is going to be key for me to control algae and i'd be worried about them getting eaten
Hi guys, I’ve been doing my "first timer" research and am looking for some validation if one or two of you would be so kind.
For my first ever tank, I have the budget to buy a 90g-180g tank, and I want to filter w/ LR and sand. I’ll start w/ some live rock, and fill in with dead rock/sand (1.5...
Hi,
Recently someone from our company donated a 55g fowlr tank, and employees have been adding saltwater fish. It's uncontrolled, so people have added lions and triggers and clowns and damsels in odd orders.
The good news is it's motivated me to learn about the hobby and I'm going to make...
cool thanks. follow-up question. if im going to start with 135lbs, what % of rock should be LR if i am going to put in both LR and dry rock? assuming 1mo to colonize all the dry rocks.
researching my first tank. fowlr 90g.
question - how much lr do i need? i read most recs are for 1.5lb per gal. if i add 135 lb of rock, does it all need to be lr?
or can i get by with less (if so, how much less)? as i understand it i can add dry rock and it will become lr (after how long?)...
