    Anacharis

They should root within a week if the plants are healthy and have good lighting. Best to take the lead weights off there not needed. I grow lots of Anacharis in my feeder tank and in a indoor tube.

    Bala Sharks

Bala sharks don't always hang out together and don't really need companions. Especially when they get bigger they do there own thing. They do get along with each other pretty much so keeping more then one is easy. I had 5 big 12"+ But 4 had died over time and only have one now.

    Overfeeders Anonymous

I feed every day sometime twice a day. My big tank has lot of fish that eat different things. Pellet as a staple two hand fulls for most of the fish. Market shrimp and cut fish for certain fish and live feeders for others. But the fish I feed the live feeders to there not the only ones that will...

    Water diffuser

I made this about 10 years ago. Its a large 32oz bottle the large center hole will screw onto a garden hose when filling straight from the faucet. It fills into the bottle and exit back out the top smaller holes. I made this just for my plant tanks.

    10" H. Vittatus on trade

If there was another feeder fish the size of a large GF at the same cost readily available I be all over it. But got to use whats available. Hopefully I can get them to eat some market shrimp or cut fish. My Goliath has eaten cut fish before so I'm hopeful I can get the Vittatus to eat it.

    Green away

If you have live plants it will also kill them too. Better to use preventive methods like algae eating fish and regular water changes and keep good maintenance on filtration will keep algae away or under control.

Hole-n-head is from poor water quality. Not just from goldfish though feeding a lot of GF does get your water filthy fast. If your not keeping up with water changes then your water quality will go down quick. I seen fish that just eat dry foods, pellets get hole-n-head disease so its not from...

Platies are cool. I had 4 Sunset Platies I kept in one of my planted tanks some time ago. When I changed that tank for some other fish I through the Platies into my 6g tank. In a year they multiplied to about 100 in the little tank that also was over growing with moss about 2/3 up from the...

Once you get a pair of fish to lay some eggs it become pretty easy to keep breeding them after. In fact they'll keep breeding till your sick of them and want nothing more to do with them lol. FireMouth cichlid help!!

You don't have to buy a mated pair. If you buy a male and couple females or even just one female you could get them to pair up. If you want to get couple females then you'll need to get rid of the one that doesn't pair up later. If you want to breed them probably best to have the tank the...

I read about that thiaminase. But not much else I can feed at the large feeder goldfish size that's readily available and relatively cheap. Small rosy are just too small have to eat alot of them. Breeding feeder guppies or platies is not really practical for me. To be able to keep a constant...

    Moldy canopy

I had one of them glossy black lacquer canopy and stand awhile back. It was painted on both sides but still managed to soak up moisture. It was made of that MDF board. After a couple of years the board got so soggy the hinges just pulled off the canopy. Still looked good from the outside though.
