    New 90 Gallon Reef Setup

Is there a way to update my subject since I actually have a 120g, not a 90? I made the change last second since I loved the look of the 120g at my LFS.

    New 90 Gallon Reef Setup

Yes, I ended up going with 2 Koralia 1050s. My return is a Mag 9.5 which goes to an Aqua UV 57 Watt sterilizer and then gets Teed off to my dual returns. I may decide to upgrade one of my Koralias to an MP40 in the near future when I get corals.

    New 90 Gallon Reef Setup

First thing I ordered was my lights. I decided to get 2 Maxspect Razor 16k 120w units. I placed my order today since I got a great deal with a pre-thanksgiving coupon code for 14% off. I was wondering if 2 Koralia 750gph would provide enough flow or if I should step up to 2 Koralia 1050s...

    New 90 Gallon Reef Setup

This tank doesn't come with a hood, at least I didn't see one at my LFS. I was just doing some research on the Maxspect Razor LED units and see I can get two of the 120W units and support the legs on the edge of the tank and on the center brace on the left and right. This would cost $800 or so...

    New 90 Gallon Reef Setup

I recently got back into Saltwater by setting up a JBJ 28g Nano, but that only reinvigorated my passion for the hobby so I'm about to purchase a 90G setup. I haven't actually purchased anything yet, so I'm open to suggestions. Deep Blue Professional 90R with corner overflow Deep Blue...

New JBJ Nano 28g Quad CF Setup

To update, it must have been from die off. I performed two 5 gallon water changes and my levels are now : Alk 10 PH 8.2 Nitrite 0.1 Nitrate 5 Free Ammonia 0.0 Total Ammonia 0.0 Salinity 1.026 I also added an AquaMaxx HOB-1 protein skimmer, which produced about 3 inches of murky liquid within...

New JBJ Nano 28g Quad CF Setup

The LR was shipped overnight and it definitely smelled like the sea as soon as I opened the crate it was in. I rinsed it in saltwater as was recommended from the vendor before adding to the aquarium. Good thing I did so because there was a lot of loose sand and debris on the rocks. I do not...

New JBJ Nano 28g Quad CF Setup

I have added a Koralia 425 PH to the setup, heater, and just purchased a HOB-1 protein skimmer after doing some research on skimmers commonly used with the nano. The skimmer should be getting here sometime next week. I just ran some tests on my tank with the following results: pH 8.1, Alk 7.5...

New JBJ Nano 28g Quad CF Setup

I have recently decided to return to reef keeping after getting rid of my 75g setup approximately 4 years ago due to getting married and moving. I decided to get back into the hobby by starting small with the JBJ 28g Nano.. I know that the CF lighting will limit me to soft corals, but that is...

Almost fed up with my skimmer

I have a Remora Pro for about 8 months now. At first I was having the same exact problem you were having with microbubbles. I put it to an end by attaching a sponge (now I have a poly filter attached) to the outflow of the skimmer with a rubberband. I still see some bubbles where the water...

Unknown crab that has significantly grown....

The thing is he usually isn't out in the open like that. In fact, I was shocked to see him out and about like that. He was there long enough for me to get my digital camera, turn on my aquarium lights and snap about 10 or 12 pictures to get some usable shots. I have to give him credit for...

Unknown crab that has significantly grown....

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. It's sad to see that its probably a Predatory Xanthid crab. How would I go about removing him from the tank? I guess this is the reason I have been seeing quite a few empty snail shells lately and missing my pep. shrimp. I thought it was the heat...
