    Predator Tank

It is a 125.. When I bought it on CL, it was listed as a 180.. I'm working on my plywood tank as we speak.. I have the frame built, I'm currently pricing glass at different places trying to find the best deal.. The frame is 9x4x2.5.. I'll post pictures when I get home..

Yeah, it's so hit or miss with the fish prices here.. Some are super cheap like the eels.. Yellow tangs are between 10-16 depending on the size.. My LFS often has sales on them for $8 a piece.. The catch is we can't get a lot of things.. No sharks, rays, or lionfishes.. No inverts can be...

    Mystery Anglerfish Death

I didn't, I've been getting the damsels from the same place.. I didn't see any signs of ich or anything and it seemed to be swimming fine at the store.. Active, ate when food was put in the tank.. I got in contact with the guys at wet web media, and they said it most likely had something to do...

    Mystery Anglerfish Death

The angler was previously in the 125, but moved into a separate tank by itself, which it did fine in for a few weeks.. And yes all those fish are in a 125, which is why I have so much filtration on there and why I also do bi weekly 30% water changes..

    Predator Tank

Actually the eels are cheap out here, since they are all locally caught.. Most I spent was $40 for the zebra.. The others were between $20-$30.. Panther and snapper was $24.. Angler was $20.. reef lobster and anemone crab, both under $20.. Humu was $12 off of craigslist.. Puffer was the most...

    Predator Tank

A couple of updates, returned the snapper and panther grouper to my LFS. Moved the angler to the 29G for a species only tank, as he hasn't been eating in my larger tank. Ended up dying in the 29, not sure as to why. Was eating fine two days prior. Added an FX6 filter on my 125, as well as...

    Mystery Anglerfish Death

Aloha, Posting to see if maybe someone on here can shed some light as to why an anglerfish I had died. Some backstory, I bought the anglerfish about a month ago for my display tank. I realized that it was being out competed for food by the other fish in the tank, so I transferred it into its...

    Am I maxed out?

You would need something big enough so the lionfish doesn't eat it.. Maybe a larger size wrasse?? How long have you had your tank set up for? Is it fully cycled?

    Predator Tank

Yeah, I picked up the tank off of CL and am in the process of setting it up.. I think this is the best route to go to get it to start to eat..

    Feeding time, how often?

dav3 brings up a great point. If you do regular weekly water changes, you could get away with more food or feedings.. If you do bi-monthly or monthly, you would feed less.. Same with a skimmer.. Bigger skimmer, maybe a bit more food.. Smaller skimmer, less..

    Am I maxed out?

How often do you change your water? I'm running two predator tanks currently and I do a 50% on my 29g and a 25% on my 125 bi-weekly.. Your water changes will determine what you can have..

    Moray Eel Feeding

Quick question for those of you that have kept or are keeping moray eels.. How often and how much do you feed?? I'm currently feeding my 3 eels every 3 days. I give them one head of squid each, followed by half of the body 3 days later, and the last half 3 days after that. Somewhere around a...

    Feeding time, how often?

For what it's worth, I fed three times a day when I had a community tank.. A pinch of flakes in the middle of the day, a quarter of a cube of frozen in the morning and at night.. I did have more fish though..

    Predator Tank

The angler is certainly big enough to eat the clown, but hasn't yet.. In fact all the eels are also large enough to eat the grouper, but none have tried. I honestly believe that they know the grouper is poisonous.. But obviously I could be wrong and if might be eaten one day. I've been having...
