Someing to think about. My pond is round 21'x23'x8'. Very hard to get a fish out. I would like 10' x 25'x 6' (4' below ground 2'above better to hand feed)
Also I was told to get about 10 nice koi. I should have now I have 75 koi more the 10 are nice. I can care for them I have the time...
I would cool the tank down . If it is heated remove the heat float a bag of ice. Acclimate them slowy not just temp add pond water to the bucket.
I just added 5 koi to my pond the pond was 10deg cooler. Your pond is to small 1000 for more then 2or 3koi.
I would put air driven sponge filters in your tanks. And use a 100 Gal rubbermade tub or something biger then a 5 gal and put the seeded sponge filters in. What ever you do don't forget the heat & take you time.
Before you buy a 500 liter pond. Think about it, if you are like the rest of us soon you will want a larger pond. If you get a 500 liter tub you can use it for a QT/Hosp. I would think the same way about a filter buy one on sale in the fall. You have the bio get the water to pass throw...
Timer for the plants. Water change the day before you go. Feed very little before you go or not at all. I will never let anybody feed my fish. They will over feed them I know. I HAVE DONE THIS FOR UP TO 2 WEEK'S.
Don't over feed when when you return.
I agree stress is a killer in the long run. I have a 20Gal high up in my garage. I fill a 5 Gal bucket get the water parameters the same & pump it in. A low GPH & I pump it on the glass
