I had to quarantine a diseased fish about 2 months ago, and never took the time to disinfect it. It and the equipment I used have just been sitting in my basement. I'm going to need to use it soon and was wondering how much cleaning needs to be done since its been dry for two months.
Update:
He's looking horrible! His spine looks curved and he's swimming sideways and gasping at the bottom. I dont think he's going to make it. I've been adding medicine like directed and the ammonia in the qt tank isnt high so I havent changed the water.
Thanks for the help. He's in QT and i'm treating him with maracyn 2. His fungus looks smaller already. How should I go about doing water changes(nh4 is >.25) and disenfecting the bucket I used to acclimate him in?

For the past two days my tank has been cloudy. I dont think it's a bacterial bloom or anything like that. And it's not cloudy enough that you cant see, but cloudy enough to notice. I noticed it when I got home yesterday, so I did a water change and cleaned my filter also(since I figured that's...
They're right. Your HOB should provide enough surface agitation without the bubbler. I recently put mine away, it was too noisy. But now my tank is nice and quiet. :D
I'm gonna be getting another tank soon, and since I have 2 filters running on my 29 gallon(A top fin 30 and a Aquaclear 50) i'd like to save a little money and just put the top fin on the new aquarium. However, there's a problem. I have diatoms in my tank right now, and I dont want them to get...
