    5 Gallon Reef Startup Help!

I have a 4g innovative marine tank and rockin a JBJ unibody LED light. Sure it's probably somewhat overkill for the tank, but the controller lets you tweak the lighting to where it's efficient enough for the tank. Sent from my iPhone using Aquarium Advice

    Live rock question

I actually have 5lbs of live rock from my old tank that I wanted to add to this 28g, so I'll add all of it together and bring it back to life. I appreciate all the feedback. Sent from my iPhone using Aquarium Advice

    Live rock question

The guy originally bought the tank to be entertainment for his kids, but after a few weeks he said his kids lost interest; the guy had a beautiful 180g saltwater tank that he was more into so he broke down the 28g jbj. Not much is on the rock now, it's been in a enclosed 5g bucket with water...

    Live rock question

I bought a 28g jbj hqi tank off of someone and I'm rebuilding the whole tank. The guy gave me his live rock in a 5g Home Depot bucket that is sitting in water. The rock has been in the water for a few weeks now; so by now has the whole rock died off? Could I still use the rock? Any info you all...

JBJ 28g HQI - skimmer suggestions

I recently purchased a JBJ 28g HQI that I bought off a guy for a great price; I'm in the process of cleaning off all the calcium build up from the recently used tank (just soak in some white vinegar and cleans up nicely), and replacing the moonlights. I plan on turning it into a coral reef tank...

How do I get rid of this?

There really is not any feeding just some algae eating inverts. I'll reduce lighting and up the water changes and see how it plays out. I appreciate the feedback.

How do I get rid of this?

I went out of town for a couple of days and came home to a bunch of red stuff growing in my tank. What is this mess that is messing up my tank and how do I get rid of it?

    Basic Set-up and Cost

I agree with Frankie_garcia. I run a 4w LED made by Skkylite (look em up) on my 4gal tank. Either a 25w or a 50w heater will work perfect. A simple weekly water changes of about 20oz of water will be fine. Anywhere with 4lb or 5lb of live rock will suit it and place about 1 3/4" layer of live...

    Stocking 10 gallon?

I have green star polyps and zoas in my 4 gal along with a glove polyp and all are pretty much just set it and forget it. They look amazing in my tiny tank. I plan on upgrading to a bigger tank this year.

    My first coral

I have a Skkye light which is a 4w LED, it has 3 LED's for the daytime which are 1W a piece, and there are 2 blue nightlights that are .5W a piece. I run both the daytime lights and nighttime lights together throughout the day. My coral love this and are fragging like crazy! I have a emerald...

    My first coral

I keep my light on for about 13 hours a day and then my night light kicks in. My zoa and other coral loves this cycle.
