If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
I was going to post this in the local forum or the barter forum but first wanted to get some feedback.
I've been getting busy at work lately and noticed I have less and less time for my tank. I may have to re-locate soon and taking my tank or leaving it with anyone is unfortunately not an...
Nevermind my siphon remark...thats for the return flow. The hole needs to be there to allow air to escape so the water can rise through.
I got it all sortsa backwards. Maybe the sound is being generated by too much water flow or too little airflow. If the air hole is too small the water flow...
I'm with you jamal...I'm having problems and I didn't even move. If I didn't have bad luck I'd have none at all.
Hopefully it'll all turn around for the better tomorrow!
Okay so I took electikat's advice and watched the tank w/ just the moonlights on. I noticed some tentacles coming out of the lr near both of the unhappy corals. I'm not sure what the tentacles are coming from but one set is on one side of the tank and there is another set on the opposite side...
my alk was at 107ppm so I was hoping that was the cause. Correcting it really seamed to help the sinularia.
I'm positive there is no snail munching on the polyps but I will keep a closer eye out. The stalks seem more like they are decaying rather than being picked at or eaten.
I'm afraid I...
I would imagine the drilled hole is to prevent a siphon from forming. The only reason I could think of for the U at all is to either slow the flow rate or to prevent floating debris from going through the line...although, I could think of better ways to accomplish either result. Maybe someone...
I tried moving the polyps and so far no change. Of the two groups on the rock, the larger set is dead and the smaller set is going down hill. I'm going to re-test everything again today but my water should still be in good shape and the alk should be up to 10 by now.
Is it possible the polyps...
Okay, not one set of the button polyps are officially dead. The stalks are breaking off. There is another smaller set on the same rock that are looking too fantastic.
Any input at all would be appreciated...
I've gotten my alk up to 9 and the sinularia is looking tons better.
However, my lemnalia seems about the same...still not too bad. And my button polyps are now all completely closed.
I've only had the polyps for a little under a week and each day more polyps would close...now they all are...
I think the pistol(s) are in an opening which faces the back of my tank. My biggest concern is that if they pair, that they will stay on the wrong side of the rock work.
I'd hate to add to my bio-load without at least being able to see my fish. I guess I can only wait and see.
