Thanks it looks course and definitely not sugar grains.....I have my 55 which I used the old catle sand in but that was 4yrs ago and it's doing well. I am not really comfy with this stuff in here. Not totally complaining though it came as part of a total reef setup includin fish :D Trying to put...
I just broke down a 90 gallon tank setup and brought it home. I was told that they have a deep sand bed but when i was scooping it out it looks too course to be sand and does not look like the sand in my 55 gallon tank. .... is there anyway to tell the difference?
Thanks
Thanks, I spent last night getting the rock down best I could. Glad I did because the one rock I scooted the goby out off was almost totally undermined. What a digger!!

I got a nice bullet goby the other day, very kewl. All my LR pretty much sits on the sand bed and he decided to build his goby pad under one of the bigger rocks. should I scoot him out of there and push all my rock into the sand so he can't get under it?
Thanks

I have the same cloudy issue. I just picked up a bullet goby yesterday and it looks like San Francisco on a nice foggy day in my tank. Although maybe a little bit better today. He's decided to make a nice little goby pad under one the rocks. So here's a question.....assuming this goby doesn't...
I didn't consider an ups because our power usually is out too long and it would run out of juice before the power comes back. I went to radio shack and got and inverter that i plug into my cigarette lighter in my p/u truck...an extension cord, and a power strip and i can power the essentials in...
Mine just went to the rock and hid For the longest time I thought they had died until I moved some rock around and poof there they were. Now on rare occasion I see them out and about on the rock.

Mine smelled like low tide in a salt marsh for a few days, then it went away. Cycled with 2 shrimp compliments of the local super market. It took a 4-5 days for it to start smelling.

Ohhhh that is a bummer, sounds like a disappointing end to your quest. Only thing I can think of is if you have a HomeDepot down there to see if they will order some for you. It never hurts to ask. I have heard rumblings that they may bring it in.

In my 55 I have 80lbs of LR in the tank on a DSB and I put 10lbs of live rubble into my wet/dry that i converted into a sump. I don't have any other filtration other than that and all is well after 9 mos.

It sounds like you have everything figured out real well, I never painted the back of a tank, i went with black on the back of my 29g but just went with a piece of the tank backing or whatever they call that stuff in the fish store in a solid black, can't tell if it is painted or not. As for...
