In the last week or so I have seemed to have inherited an algae
bloom or something. It is awful. I have dosed with chemiclean and
done a 15% water change. The stuff is just growing like grass in there
it is growing on the rock mostly and smothering out my coral. What
can I do quickly to get rid...
It is in the Caulerpa family. I saw it googling. My pic will not load.
Maybe it is not a bad thing. The leaves are round and it runs, but
I don't think it is the grape caulerpa, the leaves are flat round.
Food for inhabitants or danger?
I have a plant that has appeared that has little runners on it and
little round dk green leaves, it sprouted from around my green
star polyps and I am afraid it is going to choke them out. It is
growing very fast and it feels like a rubber band, very flexible.
Good or bad stuff? Sorry...
I have three clear bubbles coming out of my zoos like they are blowing see thru bubbles and they are hard to the touch and donot collapse, what in the world?
I'm sorry what is an MTS problem? I will never try to keep coral
in there with him, but I thought the shrimp could get away. He's
always on top of him cleaning, maybe he got sick of that.
I came home to find my african red tip sf consuming my cleaner
shrimp. The shrimp was perfectly fine this morning, healthy.
Is that normal, can they be that cunning?? I am so mad at it right now.
I feed him all the time, evidently not enough
What do you recommend to keep your ph and calcium good at the same time, or is there any hope? I get my calcium up where it should be and there goes the ph down to 7.5 or so. My corals are doing well they just aren't growing.
They have been the same size for months. Any ideas? I use IO Reef...
Hope they are eating nitrates! I don't care how hard I try they will never be 0 again and my fish don't seem to care at all. I have a lot of coraline algae too
on the walls should I scrape that off or just leave it alone, kinda unsightly.
You are right, I googled it and there it was. My first experience with diatoms. I used live
Carribsea sand from LFS for jawfish tank and I guess that is what fueled the fire. Live sand and rusty rock. Lovely.
I am waiting for a skimmer to be built, maybe that will help some and I'll blow it off...
My rock is beginning to look rusty, is that algae I guess?
It is not live rock. I restarted the tank one month ago
20 gallon with flourescent hood just for jawfish only. What
do I need to do about this brown stuff?
