Thanks bobber, im glad to have an experienced tank redoer-guy give me advice. and im not epecting a miracle so if it fails, well then a broken tank is still broken,and im only out a few bucks.
while i was thinking on this today I had the same idea as Willsta2000, but i dont think the glass will fit past the lip on the top of the tank, is there a way to remove the plastic piece on top without tearing it up?

This is my 20 gallon livebearer tank. I have 3 female mollies, 1 male, and 1 female platy? If it is a platy, I have heard that if a platy and a molly cross then the offspring will be sterile, is this correct?

I was after what you have for a long time! I had a largemouth a little smaller and two sunfish. I wanted a little catfish but didnt catch one. I just threw the ol minnow trap into the nearest lake with some bait in it, and fed the bass whatever wondered into it. It was just minnows, crawdads...

suprise, suprise, I now have mollie fry! I came home today and thought one of my female mollies looked slimmer, and then i discovered the 7-10(?) fry hiding in the rocks and trying not to be eaten. WOOT
