    new lights

I just have mine sitting on top of the glass. It's kind of a pain to move out of the way when needing in the tank but that's what I do.

    Ich right?

I have a 32 gallon roughneck trashcan that I started using for a quarantine tank. Clip on light on the side and a canister filter.

Lighting your reef... Best bang for your buck.

I've been following this thread for a while and just bought 3 of the dimmable Taos. I was about to have to spend $350 on new ballasts. I'm going to cut the top of my wooden canopy and let them sit so that nothing's blocked. When you are talking about optics, what does that mean? Can you adjust...

How to quarantine hard to care for animals?

How can you quarantine scooter blennies or mandarins? They can't survive in a bare environment. What about shrimp? They can't be in copper. I just had my 210 gallon wiped out from marine velvet and do NOT want to go through that again.

Look up Marine Velvet and check symptoms. It's a killer. Just lost almost all my fish.

    Using copper in quarentine

That only affects ick though, copper is the only treatment for marine velvet.

    Using copper in quarentine

Yeah, I plan to leave them there for 4 weeks, then transfer to my display. The only problem is going to be tangs. There is no way to have a quarantine large enough for them, at least not at my house, but nothing else is going in without it. That Marine Velvet is bad news.

    Using copper in quarentine

I now dip my corals in coral rx to remove any hitch hikers there. I don't know the exact dimensions but its 6 ft long.

    Using copper in quarentine

My display is 210 gallons with a 75 gallon sump. Not overstocked, just a fish that brought parasites to my tank. That's why I will quarantine.

    Using copper in quarentine

I have a light, canister filter, PVC tubes for hiding, power head, thermometer. I change 5 gal every other day. I also sacrificed a couple of pieces of LR to put in there. The only problem has been not being able to view them well but they have been in there for 6 weeks, eat good and seem fine...

    Using copper in quarentine

After a round of marine velvet wiped out $400 of fish, I have become a believer in quarantine. My hospital tank for the survivors is a 32 gallon roughneck trash can. I intend to use this as a quarantine. My question is this- can I acclimate my new fish to water with copper in it just like I...

    This coral is covering everything

I kind of thought star polyp but wasn't sure and didn't hear of anyone else on here complaining about it. I guess that will be my weekend project. Luckily there is not much other coral attached to that rock.
