Everywhere on the internet people say that shrimp such as cherry shrimp, etc have really small bioloads, but since amanos are noticeably bigger than the other shrimp, do they have a bigger bioload?
I have a 10 gallon and I plan on stocking it with 2 male guppies, a betta, a platy, a nerite...
I got them from dollar general and they smelled like the ocean when I bought them, they also had these particles on thrm like sand or dirt. Whenever I take them out of my tank they dry up and they start getting white-ish tints to them. Whenever I put them back in my tank they turn their regular...
I'm a pretty newish aquarium guy (only been doing this for like a year), so take what I say with a grain of salt.
I don't think you would have to coat it with anything. After you rinsed or boiled your shells they should be fine...just know that shells raise your ph.
I have a 10 gallon freshwater tank and I really like the look of bala sharks.
1. Are there any fish that look similar to bala sharks (color and shape), aren't aggressive, and won't outgrow my tank?

No they all look perfectly normal. He/she was keeping his distance for the last couple of days though, and swimming at the top of the tank. That's the only sign he/she showed of being unhappy/healthy.
First of all here are the details of my tank:
1. I've had many fish come and go in my tank, and after I followed advice, another fish has died this morning.
2. Ammonia - 0, Nitrite - 0, Nitrate - 5m, pH - 7.5, Temp - 76-77F
3. I have a 10gallon tank and it has been set up for about 3 1/2...
