    Sorry to hear that, I hope the honey gourami is doing okay. I'd reccommend looking into getting a couple more so that the fish is not alone. Sorry for your loss :(

    would you be able to post a picture of the fish? You mentioned a redness and dark spot, if we can figure out what this is then we will (hopefully) be able to find a medication to treat it with.

    what temperature is the heater on? It shouldn't be able to burn him, if it is doing this then the tank is unsafe. Does he have any other hiding places in the tank? Would you be able to post an image or describe the white patch in more detail?

    the picture isnt very clear, and you haven't specified on the tank, diet or water quality, but it could possibly be dropsy. Dropsy is a symptom rather than a specific disease, it can indicate any problem from disease to parasitic infections. I recommend looking into this and checking out other...
