    if you have a quarantine tank i'd treat with coppersafe . it is the best treatment for ick that we have found. good luck.

    it sounds like he has columnaris.try an antibiotic that contains furan or kanamycin sulfate.if you can't find one then ask your lfs for the best medicine for it.also you want to treat as a bacterial infection.HTH

    i have one that is just a baby.he is only about 2.5 in and we keep him in a 29 gal for now. we have hadf him for 1 year . cowfish grow really slow if you moniter their feeding.

    him jolting at the decorations is how they scratch themselves. it's not a disease it is a parasite. you can use a formalin bath.i know there are other kinds of medicine you can use but off hand i don't know what they are.definitely keep an eye on him. good luck.

    if you get them as babies you could get away with it for awhile but not for their entire life.be careful on how much you feed them. then they grow slowly in my experience.as babies i mean like 3.5to 5 inches.

    the overflow you buy will probably be adjustable so you set so water is always flowing into your sump but you do have to keep your eye on evaporation in your sump. HTH

    niger trigger bit the eye out of yellow tang

    he has already ate one fish and tool out the eye of your tang .he is probably going to eat or attack the rest of your fish . by leaving him in there you just creating unnessicary stress. you need to figure out if you want an aggressive tank or a docile tank.

    does it scratch on the rocks or stay in the jet stream? does it act sluggish?if your answer is yes to any of these it is possible that it has a parisite like gill and skin flukes.
