If you buy the base rock, you can just throw it in since there won't be any die off. the LR in your tank will seed the dry rock and it'll become alive in time
I had one, bullied both my clowns and my bicolor blenny. I think that if the word damsel IS in the name, not classification, runs a higher risk of aggression. Also had a domino damsel and it was aggressive too
Its been four months for me and my rocks look pretty greyish, I think a lot of lighting turns the rock darker because I put the rocks into two different tanks and the one with more light is much darker. I could be totally wrong though since i only have FOWLR. Don't test or dose for calcium...
I currently have both my 36g and 44g tank empty due to outbreaks of ich in both. While the tanks were empty, I decided to add some cleaner shrimps into my 36g to let them grow since they come very tiny from the LFS. I had a total of 5 cleaners and a fire shrimp in the 36g and everything was...
I've used kick ich in two tanks and it had no effect, maybe I was just unlucky. I've learned my lesson the hard way and had two outbreaks inside my DT since I didn't quarantine. If you can, set up another QT and take the fishes out. I'm currently doing hyposalinity on my QT and it has cleared up...
I don't remember, but I read somewhere that diseases such as ich and marine velvet can infest a DT through piggyback riding on inverts and corals, is this true? If it is, how do you prevent it?
I'm a bit confused, are you doing Hyposalinity treatment on your tank right now? Also, carbon and LR doesn't help to keep nitrAte down. If you are indeed doing a hypo treatment, I've read that it would kill off your beneficial bacteria. That is why people dont usually do hypo instead their DT
I think everyone is misunderstanding the OP. He can't get the LR for a few days, not after his tank cycles.
The LR will help in the cycle because it will seed the rest of the tank. If you can't get it for a few days, its not a big problem since tanks take anywhere from 2-6 weeks to cycle...
