im starting fresh with my 55 gal. i want to get some type of schooling fish. i know the different neons but i was wondering if there other breeds out there with the same behavior. if anyone knows the quantities that would be healthy that would be great too. cheers.
hello, its been a while.
i will be moving in about a month i had a few questions.
whats the best way to move a 55 gallon tank and the fish i got in there.
i have a texas cichlid, green terror and 2 plecos and a lot of gravel driftwood rocks, etc. any suggestions would be very helpful
thanks
i like how my tank looks with the natural pebbles and driftwood, but it keeps the water yellowish. its not a problem i was just wondering if there was any way to keep the water looking better.
my roomates and frineds always skate in our house, i dont care but i was wondering how healthy it is for the fish in my room. its pretty loud and being an old apartment shakes the floor a lot. if it is bad for my fish i'm not afraid to end the indoor sessions. thanks
im losing a lot of water to evaporation. i do water changes every 4 days or so but i lose about an inch between each one. is this alright or am i just worrying about nothing. my lights are rarely on for more than 5 hours a day
its not too bad. i got a 55 gal and i was doing it that way for about 5 months before i got smart. as long as the open end stays below the water level in the tank you'll be fine
i was just wondering if a blood parrot would work in a 55 with a texas, green terror and a jack dems. they hangout on the bottom usually but would a blood parrot want to be there too? i like how they look but i wont do it if its just gonna get picked on. and i finally just got a python after 6...
i recently set up a 10 gal freshwater tank using gravel and water from my 55 gal. i let it cycle with 5 danios for about 4 days. i put a blue crayfish in there thinking it would be alright but i found it dead this morning. the fish are still fine. im gonna test the water but what else should i...
i got some brown strands of something in my tank. they vary in length, one was up to 2 inches. they're very thin but i dont know what they are. i have a large piece of driftwood in the tank i'm wondering if it has to do with that. its been in there since i september and i've never seen this...
i am thinking about setting up a 10 gal with a couple fiddler crabs. i want to fill it halfway then put floating plants and rocks cuz they need to get out of the water, but what kind of filter should i use? would an undergravel filter be the best bet? i dont really have that much to spend or i'd...
i just got some new fish but they are hiding out on the bottom of my 55 gal tank. they wont come up for feeding. is there sinking food for cichlids or is there some other way to feed them. i tried a live feeding to bring the fush to the surface but that didnt work either. im gonna do some more...
