It's the stuff you use to clean with clothes. You put that in the washing machine... some kind of detergent used to desinfect and sometimes clean... anyway i`ve always used this technique without side effects. But you have to rince your decoration thoroughly. I'll try brushing my rocks.

My tap water ph seem to be high. I used my digital ph tester yesterday to see what it was. It normally tend to be around 7.8 which i find rather high for an freshwater aquarium. Should i gradually lower it to around 7.0, 7.2 with anything you can reocmmend or is the "stability of the ph is more...

I have somekind of problem with my ph testing. I'm sorta colorblind with different tint of blue and green since the scale of ph testing is between blue and green I have alot of difficulties reading my ph. I wonder if someone had a similar problem or any possible solution ?

I seem to have 2 type of algae in my aquarium. One is a green one very hard to remove sticking to the windows of my tank. it come in little round spots. The other one form between the window and the substrate ( small rocks in my case ) I was wondering if any of you had any tips...
The tubes are ok. I`ve went to a fish store and the guy there tested them with a device that lights them. It's or the ballast or the starter. I`ll have to go to my LFS for parts.
i`ve tried switching tubes from socket but no success. I dont have any replacement tubes neither. So i have a bad feeling about this and i really think my ballast is dead. It contains 2 neon tubes no fan. It's a simple 2 neon set. It's not that complicated inside there i might try to repair it...
