What are you feeding him? I have to go to the beach and get fiddler crabs, seems to be all mine likes. Of course its only four blocks, not a hassle.

You know I live in South Carolina and our beaches are nothing but mud and oyster rakes. Wish I had something like that here.

Ive gone through this before on other skimmers, but it only took 5-8 hours. What exactly does a break in period do to a skimmer anyways.

Well, 24hrs and no skimmate, guess Ill wait another 24 hrs.

I dont think anyone else has mentioned it, but good choice starting big, youve already improved your chances. And remember to go slow on stocking

Thanks larry, thats what I did. It seems to be working pretty good now. I always use paypal online so I filed a claim with them in case they dont supply a new impeller. Little things $39.95. Thanks again for all the help.

i figured out the problem. The pinwheel spins freely of the impeller. How can I lock the pinwheel so it spins with the impeller.

your right, the needlewheel seems to be doing a stop and go number. not making full revolutions. but nothings stopping it

its not even pumping water, it shouldnt need air for that should it.
