Help with sick rasboras - not eating, thin

Hi folks - I have been trying to establish a school of harlequin rasboras in my tank for a couple of months now and keep running into problems. Tank - 29gallon high (cycled for 1+ years) fish - 4 panda cory cats (doing great) - 6 harlequin rasboras plants - 4 anubius plants parameters...

What is going on in my tank

Wishin4warm - I'm wondering how everything worked out for you? I have had a tank for about 18 months and recently it has been a death trap despite perfect parameters. I came across this thread because I have those white fuzz spots, too, which I had never had before my fish started dying. You...

    Ich??

Thanks. I know I'm panicking - I've never had any fish get sick and then get better so I was trying to stay ahead of it but you're right.. better to not make things worse! I'll put the little guy back in the big tank so I don't stress him more and test my water daily. Should I be adding any...

    Ich??

None of my fish appear sick - they all are acting healthy so my only sign of a problem is the white spot that fell off. 2. tank parameters - (ammonia - 0, nitrites - 0, nitrates - 0 (recently did several large water changes), temp - 72, pH - 7.5) 3. 29gal high tank established for about a year...

    Ich??

Info on the quarantine tank? It's a 5 gal tank with a tetra whisper HOB filter. I'm using filter media that I had stuffed in my aquaclear 50 with some of the biofilter material from my 29gal tank in the hopes that that's enough to instacycle the QT. If it fell off when I netted him... do I...

    Ich??

Well, I just got him into a quarantine tank and now the white spot appears to have fallen off. Is that possible? I was able to see the spot on his right side but looking through him I could even see it when looking at his left side. I mentioned in the post above that the only new things that...

    Ich??

    1. I have a Cardinal tetra that has a white spot. It looks small and hard - about the size of a pinhead. Is this ich?? I have never seen it before! 2. tank parameters - (ammonia - 0, nitrites - 0, nitrates - 0 (recently did several large water changes), temp - 72, pH - 7.5) 3. 29gal high tank...

    Stocking 30 gal tank

Thanks Anton. I was planning to get at least 3 more panda corys. I'll keep in mind your recommendation for perhaps getting more. What didn't you like about your rasboras? Coloration? Behavior? Something else?

    Stocking 30 gal tank

Thanks! I got three panda cories today and will get a couple more after the tank has a chance to adjust. Still not sure what I'll do from there, but just saw some rasboras (harlequin and gold head purple) at my LFS that are gorgeous. Thinking about headed in that direction for another school...

    Stocking 30 gal tank

Thanks. I had trouble with aggressive mollies so I guess I'll stay away from the barbs, then. How big are your panda corys? Are they pretty much the same size as pygmy/dwarf corys? Do they do okay with gravel? I had read somewhere that gravel damages their barbs?

    Stocking 30 gal tank

Thanks for the advice. I think I'm more interested in some bigger fish than in the shrimp so I'll leave those off. I usually have 5-10ppm nitrates but with my sick molly I had done a bunch of pretty big PWCs and very recently did 50%WC. So, for right now, nitrates are at 0. I'm sure it's...

    Stocking 30 gal tank

Hi folks - I have a 30 gallon tank and looking for stocking advice. tank - 30 gal (tall) filter - aquaclear 50 substrate - gravel planted ammonia, nitrites, nitrates - 0ppm pH - 7.6 or 7.4 (depending on whether I trust the pH kit or high pH kit temp - I'd like to try to keep a cooler tank so...

    aggressive mollies and guppies

I have never heard of mollies being aggressive or territorial before - I certainly can see it in action now. Unfortunately. When my guppies were together, one was definitely nipping the other. Have you seen that between male guppies?
