Hey folks,
I am thinking about converting my current 20 gallon long heavily planted project into a neon tetra species only tank. Currently there are about 20 amano shrimps and 3 otos, some white clouds and a honey gourami in there. I have a whisper power filter 60 rated at 330 gph, and temp is...
1. Start dosing excel daily. When you are about to dose it, turn off your filter and powerhead. Use a medicine dropper and apply excel directly to the affected area, then leave it on there for 20 minutes before turning your filter back on. You should eventually see your BBA "pearling", followed...
Bolivian ram would be happier if given a 30 gallon tank.
I would do:
7 white cloud minnows
7 neon tetras or harlequin rasporas
1 honey gourami
6 pygmy cories
some amano shrimp as clean up crew if you are going for planted
According to aqadvisor.com my tank is only 75% stocked, which is strange since I thought I was actually getting close to maxing out my bioload.
Originally I was actually thought about getting neons instead of WCMM for my tank, but after doing a little bit of research I found out that...
Would it be OK if I only get one? Or do they absolutely need to be in school? I am asking cuz I am a little worried about my bioload if I add another small school of fish into my 20L.
Thanks!
Hey folks,
I am looking for a good middle level dwelling fish for a 20 gallon long! If anyone can offer any nice suggestions!
Currently I have a heavily planted 20 gallon long that's been up and running for a while. So far I've got a nice school of white clouds (12), a single honey gourami, 3...
Over the past few months I have been slowly upgrading everything in my tank. I started off with a 10 gallon, then moved onto a 20 gallon long. It took a while but my plants and fish have finally settled and began to blossom. I really like the way my tank looks like right now and would just like...
Here is a update of the tank:
Hornwort has been taken out since it was making a mess, I replaced it with water wisteria instead. The java moss has now been attached to driftwood using fishing lines. My friendly LFS also gave me a baby crypt for free, and now it's settling pretty nicely as well.
Here is an update of my newly planted 10 gallon, with pictures. I've rearranged the tank, took out some plants and added a few new ones as well.
I used some fishing lines to attach the java moss to 2 pieces of driftwood. I also took out my hornwort (because they are making a such a mess) and...

Current inhabitants:

Thanks for the replies, guys. I tested my water again today before going to LFS and found my pH to be a little low (6.4), probably because I did not boil my driftwood enough before putting it in the tank.
I ended up doing a PWC and now the pH is at 6.8. I then went to my LFS and got 2 white...
Howdi everyone! I have been a long time lurker on this site but finally decided to join!
About a month ago I decided to upgrade betta's 2.5 gallon to a 10 gallon. Currently, the tank's inhabitant includes:
1 betta (plakat variety)
2 amano shrimp
The tank is pretty heavily planted as well, so...
