    Corner tank and mbuna?

Pics of the stand I framed out, trying to fine 1/8" ply to laminate a curved front but that is proving hard to find in the size I want around here.

    Corner tank and mbuna?

So I picked up a leaky 56g corner tank 27"x27"x42"(curve) for a killer deal, resealed it and am wondering what to do with it. I was curious what people's thoughts were on mbuna, being that it isn't a "4 foot tank", being stocked in this corner tank. I was thinking a boat load of rock work and...

Protomelas taeniolatus (Red Empress Hap) size?

Well, a single male would do just fine. Depends on if you want babies or not. He may not color very well with a bunch of boisterous mbuna. I've heard some stories about red empress being pretty aggressive so it depends on the fish temperament too.

Protomelas taeniolatus (Red Empress Hap) size?

7 inches, 75g would be fine. You want to buy a group? I breed them!

Mixed malawi 60g build reveal VIDEO!

No red zebra, only 2 mbuna are the rusty and lab chisumulae. All of the fish in here are male except for one of the synodontis cats. The sunshine and rubescens are young and not colored up yet.

Definitely no convict in there. You may be referring to the phenochilus that isn't colored up. They take a while, he shows a nice blue most of the time and is starting to get a little white patch on his left side and the dorsal (coloring not disease) =) Thanks for the comment!

Mixed malawi 60g build reveal VIDEO!

Ok so I was going to chronicle this with a bunch of pics from when I bought the tank and stand at an estate sale for 60$ (came with a cool acrylic sump too!) but I went swimming with my iPhone in Hawaii and apparently I hadn't been backing stuff up correctly so I have no before and during pics...

    Africans with sunken stomachs

If they stop eating you know you have a parasite problem. I have had to treat sunken belly on 2 fishes. They would take in the pellet and immediately spit it back out. If they reach that point you have to get a small tube and syringe and squirt general cure (flagyl and praziquantel) into...

Thank you, sealife! I finally got my wife to accept my fish between this tank and my super red empress fry in my garage... Ladies love little teeny animals with big round eyes.

    Journal: NLS UltraRed trial!

Definately a Rubescens, I got him out of a fry tank below the breeder tank. That is why I bought the ultra red because he isn't showing enough. At this point it doesn't matter, he has sunken belly so I am treating everyone for parasites. I'll keep posting pics of the jake as long as he...
