    Planning a reef tank ?'s

That 29 would be a decent start to the tank you have. Don't just get it though because its a good deal. Make sure its what you really want. I have my 29 on craigslist for 400 and that's a steal I have over 1500 into between the hardware and livestock. That's not even counting the 45lbs of rock

    Planning a reef tank ?'s

Yeah when you get to the stage where you get your sw tank set up. I personally would set up this mini fuge up when you start cycling. Just for good measure.

    Planning a reef tank ?'s

Yeah that filter will work and as for the mini fuge I did try it and it seems to be working just fine. I did epoxy a piece of plastic mesh into the opening for the filter outlet just to make sure all the micro algea stayed in. But I made sure the mesh is course enough to let the pods out if they...

    Planning a reef tank ?'s

Just a tip... I wouldn't hesitat to over filter especially if you are planning a reef. I have a 75 gal filter on my 29gal and I would probably get a 110gal filter for a 55 gal somewhere around 400+ gph

I would get the filter also if at all possible just for the fact that it will help establish the bacteria in there also. The more bacteria the better. Just my opinion

    Planning a reef tank ?'s

Cured is ready to go in the tank and will not have much die off if any at all. Uncured is raw and will have quite a bit of die off but is much cheaper than cured. I personally get uncured and just cycle it with my tank to save a little extra cash for other stuff

If you get one just be careful when you feed it. My fish guy had one and he was feeding it by hand and it closed up on his hand and he had to go to the er to get it removed and get treated for the sting! Nems aren't bad I have a gba and it doesn't bother anything. It just sits in its spot and...

    Planning a reef tank ?'s

I also have a family to feed and lights to keep on so I can't afford to be paying outrageous prices for some of this stuff. I guess that's capitalism at is finest

    Diy tank AND sump!!

LOL yeah its an expensive hobby! I want a blue mandarin I know I already have a good size pod population cuz nothing eats them but I want it to go through the roof before I get one because that's pretty much all mandarin eat. So it can't just be a good population now I have to sustain it

My next plan is a hang on fuge it will be pretty cool I think. And the reason I'm doing hang on is because then I don't have to buy another light. I have plenty of overflow light from my fixture
