my husband pointed out to me this morning that something happened to the scales on my gold gourami. is a vet visit in order or did she just hurt herself?

female bettas are okay together, just don't make a habit of adding or subtracting them, because they'll constantly fight for the "alpha". they have a pecking order that gets easily disturbed when the population changes.
