So three months later and my fish in my 20g are starting to show symptoms. One has a noticeably curved spine, the other is acting quite strange (doing the 'shimmy' swimming) and the third one seems fine for now...Unfortunately I have quite a few good sized fry in the tank now and one has died...
Planaria!?
Upon further research, I think I may have planaria on my hands. The only thing is is that I do not overfeed my betta, his tank is next to my bed and I feed him before I go to sleep so I see him eat all of his food. I am also feeding him freeze-dried bloodworms if that could be...
I recently moved my betta to a 2.5g tank with a small filter, and he was doing great (actually a lot better than when he was in his bowl, his fins were healing from previous fin rot) and the other day I happened to look in his tank and his fins were as ripped and jagged as ever, even worse than...
Update: My suspected fish's symptoms have steadily increased and I think I'm going to have to euthanize her soon :/ The fish that had lived in the same tank with her and is now in my 20g is starting to act suspicious but there are three other fish in there who are seemingly fine. What would be...
This is what I was afraid of :/ Upon closer inspection of the fish, she is definitely showing signs of TB: curved spine, strange swimming, hiding, anorexia, laying on the bottom and when a light is shining into the aquarium her body looks translucent. I don't think these symptoms point to...
Could anyone tell me what the lifespan of a fish is once they start showing signs of fish tuberculosis? I have had a platy that has been acting very strange for over a month now, and I just want to rule out what it may be. Thanks!
I have three adult platys (2 females, 1 male) in a 20g aquarium. I managed to save two of the fry from some other platys I had bought a few months ago (I've lost track of how old they actually are), and right now they're probably about 1 cm long. What I'm wondering is if they would be ok to go...
Bad news: strange things are happening. I've posted a new thread if you care to take a look: http://www.aquariumadvice.com/forums/f17/peacock-eel-bleeding-226910.html#post2136409
I have had this eel for a little over a week, it was a gift from some friends that I didn't particularly want...He's 5-6 inches in a 20 gal tank (which I know is too small) with gravel substrate (which I know should also be sand). I thought I'd try and give it a go with him anyways. I've been...
Good news: It seems to like the frozen bloodworms I bought today! I never actually saw him eat any of them but it was swimming/hovering over them so I'm assuming it was.
Does anyone else have problems with them uprooting plants and tipping over ornaments? Haha. I came home today to find 4 of my...
Well I watched him tonight and it appears as though my other fish have been gobbling up his bloodworms before he can get to them (although I may not have waited long enough between feeding times). Maybe I'll try a food that sinks rather than floats, as you all mentioned.
Substrate was my second question...I have a somewhat fine gravel, the rocks aren't large but also aren't tiny. I read sand is more ideal. He's only buried himself a couple of times when spooked if I come near the glass. The rest of the time he just swims around and isn't too shy. I'm not sure...
