Okay, about a month later and I've still got the 55 with the cracked trim laying around. I'd rather use it than get rid of it since I did get a sweet deal initially with this tank... Would I be able to fill it half way(or less than that)? I should think that with only half the tank filled...

I've got petrified wood in my paludarium, perfect for any tank. Going with petrified wood is like getting the best of both worlds, rock and wood hardscape in one! :D

I put dirt at the bottom, then a layer of sand in the front/center and this great natural looking gravel from the store. The little male badis seems to be quite angry at his own reflection. :P

Sounds like a plan Erin. Here's an update on the tank - The eyeball-like creature behind the tank is a sculpture of mine. He actually helps keep the light straight, heheh.
