Live Rock and Frags Available in Chicago Suburbs

Ok, sorry for the delay. Here are a few photos. I'm still trying to figure out ultimately what I want to do with my tank, however I am ready to weed out some of the previously mentioned stuff that has overgrown. 1. Orange Ricordia (ranging in size from a quarter to larger than a silver...

Live Rock and Frags Available in Chicago Suburbs

Although a tank utilizing live rock is initially very easy to maintain (no filters to clean, etc.) The coraline algae quickly gets out of control and due to the amount of LR in the tank, it is difficult to keep the glass clear. I am going to switch to a more minimalistic SW tank (fish, a few...

Live Rock and Frags Available in Chicago Suburbs

I am switching my tank over to a FO tank. I have upwards of 90 LBS. Fiji LR and a bunch of other tank life that I would prefer to sell locally if anyone around here is interested. I would rather not bother with shipping but if I have no local takers I will be willing to expand my horizons...

    Southdown Sand AVAILABLE!!!

Just wanted to let you all know that I was just at HomeDepot tonight in Naperville (75th St and Rte 59) and they had about a dozen or so bags of Southdown sand sitting in their garden dept. I have no desire to rip apart my tanks and change out the substrate or I would have grabbed a few bags...

    6-stage 110 gal/day Reverse Osmosis Water System+DI filter

I just purchased this unit over the holidays. So far, so good. I liked the use of a t-adapter for the source water (vs. a piercing valve). I've had problems with leaks when I've had to use a piercing value in the past. There is a saddle valve for the waste but that is most likely going to be...

    RO/DI unit

I just purchased the Water General, and am very satisfied with it. It installed in about 30 minutes and I like the non-piercing valve on the intake. I've dealt with the piercing valve on my whole-house humidifier and I had a big problem with leaking. I didn't want to go that route again...

    ? about reverse osmosis

If you look on EBay, there are a series of RO/DI units for sale from FilterDirect that don't require a tap on the supply side. I just purchased one a few weeks ago and it is working well. The waste side does require a tap, but that is just a piece of PVC pipe that will be simple to replace...
