Well, here's the thing, we don't really have a water authority. We live in the middle of nowhere. The nearest pet store is 45 minutes away.

I had a betta fish a long time ago, before I knew about the nitrate cycle. I had a bubbler for the tank, and just used distilled water. My betta lived for a long time. Now I'm thinking about getting a new one. I'm wondering if distilled or even my house's well water will be safe for the fish...

I always use a ladle! Works for me! You just dip it into the tank, catch your fish and move into the new tank, or take a picture whatever. It's deep enough so he's still in the water the whole time! It may be weird, but I think it just might be the solution to all our problems. ;)

Wait... what are you gonna do with the pleco you replace?

Guys, I feel stupid saying this, but I have no idea what cycling is! I keep hearing this term, I assume it has something to do with breeding??? Can anyone explain it to me? Thanks!
