I live in sw Florida and went fishing yesterday and caught this. Not very big and the picture is crappy but it was very colorful. Was wondering what it is? Thanks

The pinkish purple is the good stuff. Coraline algae is what it's called. Over time that stuff will be everywhere. The other pictures I think looks like a baby brittle star. If that's the case then no dont get rid of it. There good cleaners.

Maybe not the algae itself but it's there for a reason. Algae like that usually live because there's unwanted chemicals(phosphates, nitrite, nitrate etc..) in there that are feeding it. And that in turn maybe be harmful to the corals.

Brown algae not sure of the specific name but definitely a common occurrence in a new tank. Most likely if the tank is new it is still cycling and will go away on there own.

Tds is the total dissolved solvents. Pretty much it's the junk in the water you don't want. We all strive for 0 tds for our rodi. By replacing the filters and having a decent machine you can achieve this. You can get a handheld tds meter or one that's wired into your ato(auto-top off) that way...

Yea if it's rodi water your good. Just make sure your tds is at or near zero. I'm assuming you have your own machine? If so your on the right track. Good luck it's addicting!!

Buy some rodi water or saltwater from the lfs and use that.

What lights do u have and are u running a sump or like a hob filter?

Water parameters is your water chemistry. So he's asking what's your salt, ph, cal, alk etc.
