    Eunicid Worm

4, 8, and 12-line wrasses do the same thing too. They basically settle into the rock and wrap themselves in mucous. http://www.reefkeeping.com/issues/2003-08/hcs3/index.php

    Eunicid Worm

If it has 5 tentacles, I would probably capture it and throw it in the sump. When 6-lines sleep they make a mucous cocoon which makes them sitting ducks for a larger Eunicid.

    Eunicid Worm

I wouldn't count on it. The question is, in 6 months, will it have an interest in your six-line?

    Eunicid Worm

If it's lightning fast, it is probably a Eunicid. The first time I saw one move, I freaked. Does it have five tentacles on it's head?

Why am I loosing my crustacians?

Every year during tax season, I don't do a water change for 4 months as I don't have time. I've never lost any inverts due to Iodine depletion. In fact, Iodine doesn't help inverts molt....it CAUSES them to molt.

Why am I loosing my crustacians?

Hyposalinity is only acceptable for Fish-Only tanks as most inverts cannot handle it. You need to SLOWLY bump up your SG to 1.025~1.026 over a period of about a week. I'm sure you'll see your inverts live much longer.

    something(s) on glass

OK...it's a hydroid. Just squoose them with your magnet if the population is too high.

    something(s) on glass

Sounds like a harmless spirorbid feather duster worm. Is the white circle hard and made out of Calcium? If so, thats probably what they are. They are filter feeders. Here is a Macro photo of one. Here's another

    Swimming, squirmy worm thing

It's an epitoke. When bristleworms reproduce, they grow an epitoke on the end filled with eggs and sperm (gametes). Eventually, the epitoke will separate from the parent polychaete and swim to the surface like it is on crack. Then it will explode spreading gametes into the water.

Question about mantis vs pistol shrimp...

The tilted glass trick won't work for mantis. They can swim very well. Pistols will decorate their dens with empty shells. They don't kill but they will use the shells. Mantis will kill snails and crabs. Are any of the shells broken?

    skilter filter

They claim this skimmer can be used on a 100g tank. Not even close. On your tank, it would be awesome. They can take a bit to learn how to dial in but this is even the deluxe version. It's a great deal and it's brand new.

    skilter filter

For the same amount of money, this is a much better choice. http://cgi.ebay.com/Prizm-Deluxe-Protein-Skimmer-Red-Sea-New_W0QQitemZ7726849903QQcategoryZ3212QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
