Acclimating full freshwater mollies to saltwater

yea, I got more mollies than planned, actually more than twice what i thought i was getting but I did not loose any fish over the process, other than a few babies due to the parents making a meal. But the 25 gallon has been going for over 3 years and has had a bunch of different fish moved in...

Acclimating full freshwater mollies to saltwater

I had a last minute decision to make the other day. I was upping the level little by little and then saw since I put about 20 mollies in a rubbermaid the ammonia levels were sky rocketing so I added a large airstone and changed some water to the same salt level but they were still breathing...

Acclimating full freshwater mollies to saltwater

It is possible with mollies since their natural habitat can be either fresh or saltwater although most mollies in any petstore I have seen are fully freshwater. This is one test I hope to pass LOL, and so far they are all still eating like crazy and the males are chasing the females doing their...

Acclimating full freshwater mollies to saltwater

Hi, just wondering I have gotten about 20 mollies very cheap in various sizes, from 1/4inch to fully mature. They were all in full freshwater and I would like to make them full-marine but dont want to kill them. Right now the only thing saltwater is a piece of live rockand a VERY small amount...

    Fire-bellied newts vs Fantail goldfish

I actually had a betta and a fantail goldfish live very happily together in a 5 gallon tank, until I moved them and my heater stopped working midwinter. The goldfish was only about an inch in total when I bought it, the betta full grown; but they swam together slept side by side all the...

Sally LF crab banished to refugium

from my expeience they are perfectly fine. I have 2 and they pick away at the algae in the tank, come out at feeding time and the one time one went after a fish, it was a scooter blenny and wasnt even close to catching it.

Best fish for 5 gallon aquarium?

I would say either a betta or some guppies or just about anything that size. The dont require the large tank other fish do. something like neon tetras would work as well.

Best fish for 5 gallon aquarium?

Personally I believe one pair of black mollies would do fine as long as there is lots of filtration, guppies would work or pair of platies. I know many will disagree but if there is lots of filtration and not many fish I belive they would be fine. although I would suggest getting a much larger...

    Do you name your fish?

I havent named fish for quite a long time, although when i first got into fish all I had were a couple tetras, and about a dozen feeder guppies. Every fish had a name, yes I know I could tell all the feeders apart, its sad but no one knew how I could tell them apart, I had the guppies for about...

well I have had saltwater tanks for about 3 years now and had fish all my life along wiht many other pets. I have generally stuck with the fish only tank but recently started to add a couple sps corals. I have stuck mainly with damsels since they are much easier to care for and cheaper, plus...
