Thank you. This is the third or fourth batch of fry since I got these fish at the end of April. I think one of the parents just killed my oldest male johanni. :(
last time i only took photos of the male, but this time you can see both of the parents plus the cloud of babies who just got their fins this morning. enjoy.
If you don't mind them getting a little bit aggressive down the road, try the Chinese algae eaters. They stay pretty active and won't get lazy/depend on algae wafers as they get older.
easy...
it depends on the mood music. If you play some Barry White you probably will have a lot of success. If you play Marilyn Manson don't expect a whole heck of a lot of breeding going on. <grin>
That will be a fun project if you own a large tank. Here are a few options:
(a)If the tank is a decent size, you may be able to do a water change and remove most of the gravel with a wet/dry vac at the same time. Just be careful about what you are sucking up.
(b)Use a colander/pasta strainer...
The first pic (assuming it is dead since you laid in out) looks like a Sciaenochromis ahli aka Electric Blue Haplochromis since it has a gold lower fin and the white stripe along the top fin. That would of been a gorgeous fish.
I agree the juvenile has potential to be the only remaining sunshine in my tank. It's the big bulky grey/gold one that has me baffled.
Must be an african lake trout...<grin>
