My sand sifting star isn't the brightest star in the sky. The poor guy ended up on the wrong end of my PH. It wasn't there when I left for work but it was stuck to it when i got home.
I reversed the flow and it spit it out. It cut the poor thing open or something. It now has what looks...
The clown was the last fish added and that was about 3 weeks ago. I also have a yellow tang and a yellow tail damsel. Neither of the 2 are showing any signs of what the clown has.
The last couple days my perc has become lethargic. Upon looking at it there were no signs of anything on it. This morning there are little few little white bumps on it, almost like pimples.
I don't have a clue. Isn't ich flat and covers the fish like a film. I'm setting up the QT right...
If you have hermit crabs, just leave them in there. The crabs will find them and move in if they are bigger than their current home. If there are hermits in the tank the snail inside has most likely already been eaten.
If you don't have any hermit crabs at the moment go ahead and pull them...
Last night my yellow tang had a half inch cirolanid isopod on it's anal fin. When I tried to remove it, it wouldn't come off. The tang wasn't out of the water long, but was showing signs of stress. I felt rushed and used my fingers to remove it. As I pulled it off it tore a straight line...
I once again had my arm in my tank. I was pulling my "sand sifting star" off of a limpet (spelling?). All of the sudden my cleaner shrimp is on a rock getting closer. I thought hmmmm let's see if it will really do it.
Sure enough, it jumped on my hand. I called the wife over to look and...
I have a Won Bros. pro-heat Titanium LCD II heater. Here is a link. Cheapest I have found them.

It has a sensor that goes into the tank anf gives a digital temperature read out on the display. I have it set at about 78 degrees. The digital read out says...
Astreas are the worst for flipping over. I bought 25 a couple months ago and put them all in my tank. I spent the next week flipping them back over and I'm still pulling the occasional snail off the intake of my PH's. I still have 15 or so left. Pleanty of shells on the bottom for...
Add your aquarium to your home insurance policy. Most companies will allow you to put a specific coverage amount on specific items. As far as I know it will cover the cost of the aquarium it's inhabitants, any aquascape, hardware and the water damage it may cause to anything else. But then...
I'm getting a lot of coraline on my filter intake pipe, my powerheads and spots all over the back of the glass.
Ca and ALK in balance close to NSW levels
Is it safe to say the water quality is pretty good for this to be hapenning?
My tang had it too. Following advice from here, I did a fresh water dip. Close to 10 minutes he/she did fine (though I wouldn't reccomend that long). There were a couple left on him. I had to put it back into the main tank for the night so I could get the QT set up the next day.
That...
