    Bulging eye on Cardinal Tetra

Hey guys, I have yet another problem with my 10 gallon tank. I have a pair of GBRs and 5 neon tetras in my heavily planted tank. One of the tetras that I bought about 3 weeks ago now has a huge bulging eye. Check out the 2 pictures below to see how the left eye looks. I don't see any...

    Heater/Ich question

Hah, no problem. For some reason the heater decided to actually heat today. I looked at the thermometer and it was like 89 in there! At any rate, I don't need to modify anything, just make sure that my temp remains over 86 for the next few weeks. It looks like all the ich is gone.

Adding new fish to a tank with ich...

I'm currently treating ich with heat in my 10gallon tank. The temp is around 87, and the affected cardinal tetra still has a few spots of ich on his caudal tail. My GBR and oto aren't showing any signs of ich. I'm planning on getting 5 more tetras and another GBR soon. Here are my choices...

    Heater/Ich question

It is submersible, so I'll give the horizontal placement a shot. How thick of insulation did you use? Did you just use tape? How well did it actually work (how many degrees did your temp increase)? Thanks for the tip apocalypse

    Heater/Ich question

Hey everyone, I'm trying to raise the temp in my tank to 86F to treat an ich outbreak. I've used a few different thermometers (digital kitchen thermometer and submersible alcohol thermometer) and have gotten tank temperatures ranging from 84 to 86F. I'd like to be more around 86-88F to be sure...

Is this a male or female German Blue Ram?

Thanks for the replies! Unfortunately I don't know how old the fish is. FWIW, he's about 2" from mouth to base of caudal fin. It's very difficult for me to get a good picture of him in all his colors though. Usually he has a very nice dark black spot on his side, but when I bring the camera...

Is this a male or female German Blue Ram?

I bought 2 of these guys (fishkeeper said they were male and female), but one has died, so I need to pick up another one. Any idea what sex this one is? If this picture isnt good enough, let me know and I'll take some more. Thanks!

    Sick/Dead Cardinal Tetras...Need help please!

There is a 48 hour warranty on the fish, so if I'm not satisfied (ie. they die) with the fish within the first 48 hours I can return them for store credit. CONTINUATION: So I managed to get store credit for the 4 tetras that died with no problems. I've now come to realize that it is the...

    Sick/Dead Cardinal Tetras...Need help please!

Yes they are all being purchased from the same lfs. I'm starting to thing it may be an acclimation/stress problem. I did a 50% PWC and cleaned up the BBA from a few of my plants about an hour ago. After refiling the tank the pale area at the base of the fish's dorsal fin had extended about...

    Sick/Dead Cardinal Tetras...Need help please!

Hi All, I bought a 2 german blue rams and a 3" killifish on the 3/25. The killifish lasted only 24 hours before dying. I then decided to get some cardinal tetras for tankmates. I bought 3, and 1 died within 24 hours. I then went back to the store and bought 4 more (so I would have the...

Stupid ways to kill a fish

I've went through my fair share of fish/aquacritters, and I've only been at this for about 6 months. I had a few african dwarf frogs, but one day I noticed one was missing. I knew that they're able to escape from an open top, so I looked all around the tank, but couldn't find him. I figured...

    Apistos

I have a pair of cockatoos in a 10 gallon moderately planted right now. They're a blast to watch and very pretty. I just acquired them about a month ago, and they've already bred once. Currently I have a SAE, an otto cat, and about 8 1/4" cockatoo fry with them in this tank. The female will...
