Wow mate that's a lot of evaporation! Where do you live? I have a lid and it helps a lot even in a cold uk climate.

You can buy a lid to stop any jumping ............... My betta has never jumped out even before i added the lid. The lid will help keep the temperature higher, stop the water evapourating so quickly and provides a layer of humid air above the water that the Betta's love. The lid cost me £5...

Finally been able to add some fish to the tank after its cycle. Currently in there is 1 x Pitbull Plec 4 x Fancy Guppies They seem happy with their new environment. Fingers crossed it stays that way. Hope you like.

He's much better thank you. Swimming all over the tank. Very interactive. Happy to eat so giving small helpings only once a day. Only thing he's not doing again yet is reacting to the mirror. Water is very clean. Hopefully the readings will be better when I test it on Friday. Apart from that...

Ok there is an update. He is pooing, but its not a long stringy normal poo, it has come out in a ball & looks like a prisoners' ball & chain hanging from him. Is this just the result of constipation? Looks like it might have been painful.
