Opinion on Visi Jet protein skimmer.

What do you have in your SW ? After reading thru some of the posts here, and other sites, my understanding is that you could get away by not a protein skimmer but its better to have one. water changes are a must atleast 10-15% every 2 weeks to maintain good quality.

Opinion on Visi Jet protein skimmer.

thnx for the response. thank goodness I didn't end up buying it. Anyway, this marineland eclipse equip really stinks. I don't think it was ever meant for reef. I plan to discard it and use glasstop and 2 65W strip light with NO skimmer for the time being. I shall faithfully replace 15-25% water...

adding substrate This is the same thing I did and made a complete mess of my tank. Atleast in your case u r starting out. It takes some time atleast give it 3-4 days. Leave the filter running and everything should be normal within 3-4 days. Check some other posts in the newbie forum. Quite...

substrate Hi Steve, Yep. absolutely right. I will definitely be on the lookout for any ammonia spikes. Anyway, things are much better now. My bicolor angel acted a bit funny in the begining when I introduced it back in the tank but now is doing ok. Eating as well.. Now the next step is...
