I just had this problem in my small tank and its no where neer a window... I actualy got a few fresh water clams from my big tank and put them in and in a week or so and it took 3 clams about 8 or so days to get the water to kinda foggy ill see how it is in a few days I also changed my poly wool...
what kind of crabs are 100% fresh water and dont need to be out of the water once and a while... also they need to be a fair size so the dont get eaten
the horns arnt like dry coral or bone they are much more solid and take alot longer to disolve so they wont bring the ph up a noticeable amount if you do regualar water changes... but you could clear coat them to be 100% safe
for the filter i would sudgets some kind of plants... becauce drift wood would block the circulation a little bit but for the heater a larger piece of drift wood with a scoop like shape so one side is round out and the other side curves in to go around it would work great...DW stands for drift...
looking for a 150-200gal tank preferably 6' long and not a tall cube like tank just the tank only will pick up with in 2 hours of North Bay ontario will pay for shipping if furthur....if interested will trade a 6' evergaldes ratsnake with 45gal tank with all the accesories
the piece u put in about 4 days ago is starting to get a "film" of this all over it soo hopeing the feeder gold fish i use like it so they eat it befor the pirahnas get them
had a alot of this when i re-set up my tank.... it goes away on its own in time vineger or bleach do nothing it just comes back.. scrape it off as best you can and it will just kinda go away on its own
