I just had this problem in my small tank and its no where neer a window... I actualy got a few fresh water clams from my big tank and put them in and in a week or so and it took 3 clams about 8 or so days to get the water to kinda foggy ill see how it is in a few days I also changed my poly wool...

what kind of crabs are 100% fresh water and dont need to be out of the water once and a while... also they need to be a fair size so the dont get eaten

the horns arnt like dry coral or bone they are much more solid and take alot longer to disolve so they wont bring the ph up a noticeable amount if you do regualar water changes... but you could clear coat them to be 100% safe

what heater could i use in a 200gal tank.... on a side note what would be a suitable filter for a tank that size .... would a fluval fx5 be too much?

do you have pics of it? i can ask a few people i know if they can fix it or if its even fixable

no i dont want a broken tank unless you are gona give it to me.... i will pay for a intact tank... not a broken one

for the filter i would sudgets some kind of plants... becauce drift wood would block the circulation a little bit but for the heater a larger piece of drift wood with a scoop like shape so one side is round out and the other side curves in to go around it would work great...DW stands for drift...

the piece u put in about 4 days ago is starting to get a "film" of this all over it soo hopeing the feeder gold fish i use like it so they eat it befor the pirahnas get them

had a alot of this when i re-set up my tank.... it goes away on its own in time vineger or bleach do nothing it just comes back.. scrape it off as best you can and it will just kinda go away on its own

go to your lfs and get a pice of slate or shale so its kinda decorative aswell as practical thats what i use

I just picked up a sheet of cheese cloth like nylon fabric mesh stuff i made a pouch bag out of it and its in now i dont know what kind of hob i have but there is a big space in the back that i have a bag of the ceramic bio pelet things and now the carbon i put in the new drift wood last night...

well i have 2 bags of the clay biomedia stones and i couldnt do that carbon snadwich with my filter i wouldnt get the flow i wanted i need to use the bag of carbon just in the back of my hob.. aslo the black carbon poly wool only lasts for mayb 2-3 weeks then the carbon looses efectiveness

My lfs sells almost solid black angels im just wondering if they are all black angels or just realy stressed out? also is $6 each a good price for a 2-3" angel

alright i will try going to the dollar store and get the mesh bag i just need the carbon filtration so i can put my new drift wood in the tank....

i just bouught one of those 1 liter cardbord milk things of active carbon and it cost me 15$ and they only sell the replacement filter media for certain filters and they are usualy pre made so idk ill try to find cheese cloth or a nylon stocking i replace my carbon every 4-5 months cuz it stops...

i have a huge sheet of poly wool i use for filter media i also use the clay things for bio media.. i dont want to buy filter socks for like 15 bucks for 2 my lfs charges up the @$$.... is there a cheaper alternative?

i just purchased some active carbon that i thought was in mesh bags but its just loose.... what could i use that would be safe for my tank and wont degrade over time and let loose carbon mess up my pump
