    Oscars Laying on bottom?

I took about 25 to 35 gallons out via gravel vac and replaced it in a sump over about 2 hours as the filtered water flows very slow. They swim very easily to get food and hang out for a little bit only to return to laying around the bottom. Don't appear to be struggling like the swim bladder...

    Oscars Laying on bottom?

There are no air stones in the tanks if that is what you mean by bubblers. The returns from the sump are pointed up so they break the water surface to help airify the water. Turns over pretty good. I was thinking that was a possiblity, but they have been good for 2 weeks. Nitrites was...

    Back Ground choices

I was just wonering what everyone does with the backs of the tanks? I don't want to paint it black, I was thinking of a designed textured back ground that slips inside or even a cool looking cheesey laminted design.

Questions about old long dead dried live rock??

I think I am gonnna go get some of the nicer rock pieces, and wash them down with a presure washer, see what they look like then. Then boil each piece, if looking good I will place them in a tank of freshwater with a power head blowing over them for a few weeks. Changing water out as needed...

Ok so I am hanging out at the My Grand fathers house today and low and behold if I don't look over in the Flower beds and find what appears to be 100's of LBS of Coral skeletons, and possibly Tonga/marshall islands shaped pieces of Rock. Upon close inspection it appears to have been out there...

    no more LFS for me.....

I just recently went to work for my local Petco, and one thing I realize is hardly anyone they hire has SW experience except the managers. this was a plus for me since I actually have some experience. the fish locally seem decent usualy. Bigest problem it appears is mixing fish that shouldn't be.
