I disagree. Freeze dried black worms and bloodworms(66% protein) are a lot better compare to frozen bloodworms(6% protein). Frozen blood worms are like candy to discus. No nutritional value. Buy loose freeze dried ones and soak it prior to feeding and you won't have problems with discus getting...

If you don't want your tank to look empty, you can also add DW. I prefer large pieces of manzanita because they look like tree roots.

I agree with this. Some people likes the peppering. If it looks good for the owner then everything is ok. Also, you can avoid buying pigeon based discus(no peppering).
