My new 125 gallon tank ! Pics !!!!!

Check out the buy and sell forum on theplantedtank.net. The Aquabotanist cant rely on their LFS Lol. Aquatic Magic does sell a good variety of mosses but do not differentiate bog and aquatic moss. On top of this, your plants will not arrive at your door for up to 2 months. You will also see...

Will algae eater eat my plants?

They wont try to eat your plants unless they are starving. Since they are very aggressive with their scavenging in the substrate, your small foreground plants will easily be ripped up. Even if a pleco was eating your moss, it grows at a very rapid rate under most conditions and a pleco will...

    java fern

I have the same problem with the leaves getting black spots all over them. After having the java fern for 2 months it finally started to grow. The leaves all have black spots but they are not turning brown or dying off. Really weird.

    Can't find CRS Shrimp

You can also look in your filter. I ordered 10 cherry shrimp and could not spot a single one after 3 weeks of having them. I finally tore apart the tank the 4th week and saw no bodies and no shrimp. I then opened up the filter and counted exactly 10 shrimp bodies at the bottom of my filter. I'm...

    20 Gallon light Recommendations

I dont know what you are trying to show here but there is no java fern in the picture. What you have centered, which is kinda swirly, looks like cryptocoryne leaves.

    Plant Growth issue

What is the size of the tank? Like I said... you might have enough light but you are not injecting CO2 or ferts. Plants cant grow and thrive on light alone.

    need advice on plant problem

Here's a quote directly from the description of the Fluval G3's Nitrate Cartridge... "The Fluval G3 Nitrate Cartridge is for use with the Fluval G3 advanced filter and will remove up to 13,000 mg of nitrate ions in freshwater aquariums. Nitrate concentration should not exceed 20 mg/L in...

    need advice on plant problem

Hmm... what is the purpose of chemical filtration if it does not remove nitrate? All companies boast about how well their filters remove ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate. Why would they tell us how well they remove this stuff chemically if they do not?

Will LED lights support plant life?

1.5 gallons is not enough for any fish. I see it as animal cruelty! Unless its very temporary. Petsmart sells a 10 gallon tank by itself for $13-$14 bucks. Thats a good starter tank.

    Ten gallon hi-light

You could try Caribseas black sand. My plants did fine in it. I removed the sand because I think it was cutting up my cory's barbels and we cant have that :( Its very nice looking sand though. Low light plants are the normal, java fern, cryptocorynes, anubias'. I'm pretty sure any moss is for...
