Hawaiian cleaner wrasses tend to die in captivity as they are obligate parasite eaters. Chances are yours will not eat prepared food, though that's not to say it won't happen. Most people who have ones live long lives have several 100 gallon super stocked tanks with plenty of parasites to pick...
When you say white on the zoas do you mean white balls? That means it's probably zoa pox and even dipping them in coral rx or what have you doesn't work.
Definitely a group of anthias, maybe six or so. Then I'd get a few tangs and large wrasses. Then of course there's the clownfish and other fellows that stay around the rockwork.
Very nice 240. Would look amazing with some saltwater in it ;). But yea. Going straight from freshwater to a 240 salt would be a stretch for anybody regardless of funds.
The ones with large displays often sell water. If I had a large tank I'd mix my own but the stuff they use in their 1k gallon display is the same they sell so it seems to be good stuff. The free 10 gallons with a 10 gallon purchase is promotional though really and they pretty much just want...
Sounds like you are rushing into this. Adding a bigger clean up crew will not help. At 1.5 weeks, the tank is still getting balanced and you are going to see lots of algae and diatoms. Patience is key.
Definitely not a feather duster. I don't think it's a majano or aiptasia, as I've had majanos in my tank and they don't really look like that. Some sort of nem most likely though.
If you get a 29 cube there will be wires in the water from the pump. Pretty sure for most heaters though the wire comes out the top, which shouldn't be submerged in most cases.
To start a cycle, I'd personally dose pure ammonia and add some live rock or just bottled bacteria from an LFS. when...
I prefer ceriths as they can right themselves and are less conspicuous but eh, they both eat algae. Nassarius are the only inverts in my tank that I feel contribute majorly though.
My bet is allelopathy. Some corals simply won't get along and will engage in chemical warfare, causing harm even if no visible sweeper tentacles come into contact. Really not much you can do if that is the case, just have to avoid incompatible corals in the future.
I may very well be wrong...
